Lesson 14
When Your Phone Is Stolen
Your phone holds your passkeys, codes, texts and bank. Know what to do first, from another device, and what to set up tonight so it never becomes a lockout.
Outside the station
You’re checking a train time outside the station on Monday evening when someone on a bike snatches the phone from your hand. Don’t chase them. If you’re hurt or in danger, or it’s happening now, call 999 from someone else’s phone; otherwise you’ll report it to the police shortly.
Then think about what just left. Your phone held your authenticator, received your text codes, kept your passkeys, stayed signed in to your email and opened your banking apps. It’s the recovery loop from Your Way Back In, for real: every route that needs the phone has gone with it. This lesson works through the next few hours, using what the whole course has built.
