A report lists 'heating repairs' beside 'high-rise repairs'. A heating repair in a high-rise can belong to both. Adding the two counts as though they were different jobs would count that repair twice.

Before polishing the prose, check what each heading means. MECE — mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive — is a way to ask whether categories overlap and whether they cover the intended set. It cannot tell you whether the underlying observations are true.
