Three ways a screen costs sleep
A phone in bed costs sleep in three separate ways. Light: the screen shines into your eyes in the evening, when light pushes your body clock later. Arousal: a row in the family group chat or a work email keeps your mind switched on long after the screen goes dark. Time: one more episode is another half an hour you aren't asleep.
Think of them as three separate taps, each with its own handle. Turning one off doesn't stop the other two.
