A zone of possible agreement, or ZOPA, is a set of terms both parties would accept. In a simple price-only example, it is the overlap between a buyer’s maximum and a seller’s minimum.
This is a conditional model. Real limits may be private, uncertain or dependent on other terms. An overlap makes agreement possible under the assumptions; it does not guarantee trust, authority or a signed deal.
