The coating’s instructions should tell you how to clean the tools and manage waste. Gather suitable containers and protection first. Removing excess promptly makes cleaning easier and can save usable paint.
For a water-based product whose instructions allow soapy-water cleaning, wash and rinse into a container. Keep paint-contaminated water out of drains and soil. Follow the product and local waste service’s disposal directions.
Do not use white spirit or other solvents to clean skin. Follow the label’s skin-cleaning advice; protective cream does not replace suitable gloves or avoiding contact.
