A band is a range of radio frequencies. Many home access points offer both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz; some also offer 6 GHz. Check the actual product and device capabilities. A generation label does not promise every band.
Several bands can share one Wi-Fi name and password. The access point may encourage a choice through band steering, but the client device also decides which connection to use. One name does not mean one radio, and separate names are not automatically better.
Keep the manufacturer's normal supported setup unless a specific problem calls for a change. Record the band used in a comparison when the device makes it available.
