An engine turns only part of its fuel energy into useful work. Heat leaves through the exhaust, cooling circuit and other paths. If heat arrives faster than it can leave, component temperatures rise.
Cooling controls temperature within the design’s operating range; it is not about keeping every part cold. A warning requires the actual vehicle’s response, not a guess that a particular displayed temperature is normal for all cars.
